Corbyn's Cove Beach: This coconut-palm-fringed beach, located 3 kilometers from town, is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Facilities such as a hotel, restaurant, bar, changing rooms, and adventure water sports are available. Historical remains like the Japanese Bunkers can be seen along the way to the beach. Snake Island, situated just across from the beach, is popular for scuba diving. The restaurant and beer bar run by the tourism department provide delightful cuisine at reasonable rates in a soothing beachside ambiance.
Light & Sound Show: The Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail narrates the saga of the Indian freedom struggle, brought to life through sound and light effects depicting the brutal atrocities faced by freedom fighters who were deported to these islands and imprisoned in the small cells of the jail. This show is very popular among tourists visiting the islands.
Cellular Jail: Declared a National Memorial, the Cellular Jail in Port Blair stands as a mute witness to the brutal atrocities suffered by national freedom fighters who were incarcerated there. Completed in 1906, the jail acquired the name ‘Cellular’ because it was entirely made up of individual cells for solitary confinement. Originally, it was a seven-block structure with three stories, centered around a tower, consisting of honeycomb-like corridors.
